About Easy FitProductsInstallationSafety StandardsWhy Use Easy Fit

The majority of child drownings occur due to the pool gate being left open, or being propped open - rendering a good fence useless.

A properly specified fence is generally effective because few children can climb a pool fence and drown. The pool gate is the weakness — the major limiting factor is compliance with gate closure. In many cases the gate is left open by an adult.

Experts from the US Consumer Protection Society Commission concluded that whilst there are no better forms of protection than diligent supervision, the best way to reduce child drownings in residential pools was for pool owners to construct and maintain barriers that would prevent young children from gaining access to pools.

Gate maintenance is paramount to ensuring your pool's protection. A poorly maintained gate and lock can over time enable a child to open the latch and access the pool. Gates should be maintained to ensure they close properly. Many latches and hinges require maintenance due to exposure to the elements. Easy-Fit Fencing Component locks are built to stringent Australian and International standards from the most resistant materials that will not rust or bind together. This means that the locks and hinges are virtually maintenance free, leaving you with peace of mind - secure in the knowledge that your children cannot access the pool.
